Once again loving the whole Works for Me Wednesday concept. It’s Shannon’s brilliant idea, check out her blog today for links to even more ideas.

Here is my Works for Me tip this week:

Traveling Snacks - Candy Necklaces / Bracelets
Ok, I must admit I have never tried this before, but I got the idea on Easter when I purchased a pack of candy bracelets to put in my daughter’s basket. I thought, when we fly to California this summer I should remember to pick a couple of these up. I well remember having my son drop a baggie full of puffed corn on the floor - face down and having it roll all over the plane before we could wrangle any of it to the trash.

Yep it’s not the healthiest of treats, but I’m hopeful that it will accomplish 2 things. 1) stay put and not easily wind up on the ground (and thereby trash). I’m thinking the necklace will probably work better than the bracelets at accomplishing this particular goal. 2) take an appropriately adequate amount of time to consume, so as to pass some of the hours we have on this flight without having to hear “more”, “more”, “MORE”.

BTW, if anyone has any other flying cross country with kids tips - snacks or otherwise, please consider it for a WFMW posting or just leave me a comment. My kiddos are 7.5 and just turned 3.
